I’ve always thought Greg Knapp looks like something out of Batman: The Animated Series. Thoughts?

    Behind the Shield: Juron Criner

Like Jacoby Ford and Denarius Moore before him, this kid is already becoming a star of camp and will soon be one on the field as well. I really like him—it’s obvious he knows his stuff.

Before Marcus Allen, there was Kenny King… I love how much of a scrapper he was.

We now have two former USC Heisman-winner QBs on the roster

    Yep, Leinart’s the backup.

I’d much rather have him holding the clipboard than Boller/the hundreds of bad backups we’ve had this decade. Plus, I still don’t see it how he’s considered a bust—getting benched in favor of Kurt Warner is nothing to be ashamed about. It’s time to give him a second chance—and in the perfect place to do it too.

“Your uncle is Jeff Hostetler. Is that right?”“Yeah.”

Nathan Stupar, LB from Penn State and our 7th round pick, is actually Jeff Hostetler’s nephew! He’ll also be encountering two former teammates from Penn State, Lil Wiz and Jack Crawford. All in the family, baby!

"You have a full city behind you when you play for the Raiders."

Here’s a link to the press conference of our “first” pick, OL Tony Bergstrom… At first, he seemed like a boring “depth” selection, but honestly, the more I learn about him and hear what he has to say, the more I like him and think that he’s going to fit in perfectly here.

And for our last pick, another LB: Nathan Stupar, OLB, Penn State. 6’2/241. He seems to have the smarts but not the size for the position. At the least, I’m sure he’ll be great on special teams.

Pick 189: Christo Bilukidi, DE, Georgia State. 6’5/290… Not much out there on this guy, Reggie and co. must know something that we all don’t. Honestly, I would’ve drafted a different position at this point, but we’ll see.

Another 5th-rounder: Juron Criner, WR, Arizona. 6’3 224. Should fill the gap left by Chaz Schilens. Dude’s got some mad hops.

We just nabbed this crazy mofo in the middle of the 5th round: Jack Crawford, DE, Penn State. 6’5/274. From Great Britain! Looks like a beast!

Miles Burris, linebacker, San Diego State. 6’2, 246. Looks like a wolverine or something. Now in the Silver and Black.

And with the 95th pick of the draft, the Raiders select…

Okay, sorry I’m late on this… Had plans tonight—I wish the draft was still during the day.

For their first pick, the Raiders have taken Utah OG/OT Tony Bergstrom. He’s a big feller (6-5, 315) and an old one too (25), but he’s also a mauler and has a chemical engineering degree. His brother-in-law, Paul Kruger, plays DE for the Ravens.

I like this pick because offensive line depth has been one of our biggest problems for awhile now, and if he pans out, we’d have four-five young starters on the line. I don’t know much else about him yet but I’m sure we’ll be hearing plenty within the next few days.

    From Coach Allen:

“He can play offensive tackle, he can play offensive guard,” Allen said. “He’s a guy that fits the type of scheme that we’re going to be here, with some of the zone-blocking stuff and his ability to get to the second level. So, when you watch tape on him, you can tell not only by watching tape that this guy loves football, but he also has the athleticism that you need to run our type of zone blocking scheme. So we’re excited about him and think he’s gonna be a real good player for us.”

    First draft without this guy.
